Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)

We are seeking an experienced RPLS in our Garland office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating office duties, supervising and managing field crew, collecting field data, quality assurance and quality control.  Candidate must be registered in the State of Texas, and have strong knowledge of boundary, design topographic survey, TxDOT surveys, and construction surveys. Technical capabilities should include a strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Geopak, and Trimble.

Typical Duties

  • Manage the surveying operations of SPI including the following general items as related to the development of engineering construction plans:
    • Establish horizontal and vertical controls
    • Collect field survey data including topographic features and boundary monumentation for inclusion in engineering design documents
    • Perform computations associated with survey work
    • Provide organized and clear descriptions of field data
    • Supervise the development of base drawings of survey data
  • Research, analyze and prepare property boundary documents including rights of way exhibits, easement documents, and plats
  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of survey equipment
  • Manage survey staff workload and time against a budget
  • Work in a team environment, along with other engineering staff

Requirements

  • RPLS in the State of Texas
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Word
  • Knowledge and application of surveying theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
